Objectives/Goals

1. Development of a Sunday school curriculum

2. Recruitment and support of qualified and committed Sunday school teachers

3. Surveying the needs of the congregation, to present this through Sunday

School ministry to the team, and to assess the effectiveness of the ministry.

4. Assessment and support of alternative Bible learning opportunities at NYCBC,

other than Sunday School.

Functional Areas

Ministry coordinator (General direction, meeting agendas, progress tracking, annual report)

Additional team members will be involved in and share the work of:

Developing curriculum and teaching resources (objectives 1 & 4)
Recruiting teachers (objective 2)
Administration (meeting minutes, bulletin inserts, Sunday School facility arrangements)

● A new SDM team, consisting of members from all three congregations, has been recruited.
● One of the SDM 2025 objectives is to cultivate a functional and coherent SDM team.
● Initiate church-wide engagement for SDM beginning 2025
● Clarification of SDM’s discipleship ministry in a church-wide context has already started in 2024 and will continue in 2025 – visions, approach, model, and partnership with other ministries.
● Promote serving with one’s SHAPE among congregants and decide how it fits into the discipleship ministry.
● Revive functions for servant-leadership learning and community building (a unified purpose and goals, appreciating and encouraging each other, networking, and collaborating).
● Utilize Logos Mobile Education course videos as learning resources.
