Nehemiah 3:15-32 (ESV)
Reflection:
This passage shows a wonderful image of God's people at work. Each person focused on repairing their assigned section — whether a gate, a tower, or a stretch of wall. No one built the entire wall alone, but as everyone did their part faithfully, their work connected, and the whole wall came together. Piece by piece, their efforts contributed to the restoration of the city and the fulfillment of God's greater purpose. In the same way, God calls each of us to a unique role in His kingdom. You may feel your part is small or hidden, but it matters. God weaves our efforts into His bigger picture as we use our gifts in obedience and love — whether in teaching, serving, giving, praying, or leading. Together, we build His Church and advance His mission.
At NYCBC, your role connects to the larger work God is doing among us. Let's reflect on how we can faithfully do our part, knowing that God uses it to bless His people and glorify His Name.
Reflection Question:
How can doing your part with faithfulness help connect to the greater work of building God's kingdom?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for giving each of us a part in Your great work. Please help us to see the value of our role and to serve with joy and faithfulness. May our efforts, big or small, connect to Your bigger plan and bring glory to Your Name. In Jesus' Name, we pray, Amen.
