"To Live for Christ"
Scripture:
“for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
Philippians 1:19–21 (ESV)
In verse 12, Paul emphasizes that the suffering he endures is for the sake of the gospel. Then in verses 19–21, Paul again underscores the meaning of his life: Christ. “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” This reveals that Paul’s life had direction, purpose, and responsibility. Take a quiet moment before the Heavenly Father. Ask Him this question: “What is the mission of my existence?” If the redemptive work of Jesus Christ is a real and living truth for me, then today, my life should also follow Paul's example—making Christ the center of my life. Are there areas in my lifestyle or behavior that need to change in order to reveal that Jesus Christ is truly the center of my life?
